Special FX Makeup Team

It takes a team of nearly 20 makeup artists about three hours to prepare a cast of more than 200 performers each evening.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be able to manage their time wisely. This is a fast-paced, fun environment, and the timing of the makeup team is essential.
  • Applicants must be proficient and possess skills in basic and intermediate special FX makeup. This includes knowledge of and hands-on experience with airbrush makeup application, prosthetic application, Skin Illustrator, latex, gelatin and silicone appliances, and Pros Aide transfers. Makeup artists selected will have the opportunity to work with the best products available in a professional setting. Makeup artists are paid hourly.


To Apply:

First, complete an online makeup application. (Application link will be available soon.)
Then, attend an in-person makeup interview at one of the following times:

  • Saturday, June 8, 2024, 1:00 - 3:00 pm
  • Saturday, July 13, 2024, 1:00 - 3:00 pm
  • Saturday, August 10, 2024, 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Please bring your portfolio to the interview along with one of the following forms of I-9 identification: 1) a valid U.S. passport or 2) a valid driver's license / state-issued ID / student ID with photo and expiration date AND a valid social security card or birth certificate. Makeup interviews are held at Eastern State Penitentiary, 2027 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia. You do not need to make an appointment. Late arrivals will not be permitted. 

Positions will be filled on a rolling basis. Early applicants have a greater chance at early hiring, and roles will continue to be filled throughout the season.
